Getting started

What to expect

We’ll start with a detailed 90-minute intake so I can learn about your child and your family. I’ll send you several forms and questionnaires before we meet so we can hit the ground running.

From there, we’ll identify treatment goals and develop an initial treatment plan together. Treatment plans may include individual therapy, meetings with parents together with youth or individually, as well as consultation with school staff or medical providers as needed. Therapy sessions typically last 45 minutes. Each session will involve learning and applying new skills, tailored to a child and family’s individual needs. I’ll ask you to complete activities outside of therapy sessions to practice and reinforce skills. Each week, we’ll track behaviors and symptoms together to determine if goals are being met. Treatment length will vary depending on specific needs and treatment plans may evolve over time, but typically treatment lasts 3-16 sessions. Unless there are special circumstances, I ask most families to commit to starting with 8 weekly sessions with me.

I offer services both in-person and on telehealth.

Payment

Fees

  • Initial intake with diagnosis and treatment planning (90791, 90 minutes): $500

  • Therapy appointment (90834; 90846, 45 minutes): $250

Like many psychologists, my practice is typically full. The slots I do have open currently are not during after-school hours. I am happy to problem-solve ways for young people to meet with me during school hours.

I offer a fixed number of sliding scale slots. All are currently full but you can ask to be added to the waitlist.

Insurance & Health Savings Accounts

I accept payment from Health Savings Accounts.

I’m an approved provider with Washington State Adoption Support.

I’m not in-network for any insurance company but will provide documentation for clients to submit to insurance for reimbursement for out-of-network behavioral health services. This is generated as a monthly “Superbill.”

You can contact your insurer to ask about your out-of-network benefits for services with a licensed psychologist. Important questions to ask include:

  • What are my out-of-network benefits for behavioral health?

  • What is my deductible? After I meet my deductible, what percentage of the visit cost will I be reimbursed for?

  • How many therapy sessions are covered?

Cancellation

I require a 72-hour cancellation. Sessions canceled within 72 hours are subject to a cancelation fee of the hourly rate.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service.

Contact

The first step is setting up a free 10-15 minute phone consult. I can share more about my practice, you can ask me questions, and we can make sure I'd be the right fit for your family. These screening calls are usually brief, and if we decide we're a good match I'll take a detailed history during an intake.

I will do my best to return your message within one week.

For emergencies, contact Washington Crisis Hotlines, the Suicide Prevention Lifeline, or go to your nearest emergency room.
